Lumber Metrics is a free tool site for US DIYers, woodworkers, landscapers, and contractors.

It started with one problem: lumber is priced by the board foot and gravel by the cubic yard or ton, and both are easy to get wrong.

Every calculator shows the formula, density, or price used, and separates waste and compaction, so you can check the maths by hand.

Results are estimates, not live quotes.
