Gravel for Patio Calculator
Gravel Calculator
Volume = length × width × depth. 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet. Tons depend on material density, so the density used is shown in the result.
Area: - sq ft
Volume: - cubic yards
Weight: - tons
To order (with waste and compaction): - tons / - cubic yards
50 lb bags: -
Material cost: $-
Estimate only. Density varies by quarry and moisture. For large orders, confirm with your supplier's scale ticket. Delivery, minimum order and labour are usually extra.
Plan a gravel patio in two layers.
Layers
Base: 4 inches compacted crusher run. Surface: 2 to 3 inches pea gravel or #57.
Worked example
Patio 10 x 20 ft: base 4 inches = 2.47 cubic yards; surface 3 inches = 1.85 cubic yards, before waste.
Note
Edge the patio so gravel stays in place. Calculate base and surface as two layers.
Estimate only. Confirm with your supplier before ordering.
